The 20th - National Laser Symposium, sponsored by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Depart of Atomic Energy, in collaboration with Indian Laser Association (ILA), will be organized at Crystal Growth Centre, Anna University, Chennai from Jan. 9-12, 2012. This symposium will cover recent developments in the fields of physics, technology, and applications of lasers. Apart from invited talks by leading experts, there will be contributory papers by researchers, and Ph.D. theses presentations by students. Prior to the symposium on 8th Jan. 2012, ILA will organize short tutorial courses at the symposium venue. It will also give "Best Paper" and "Best Thesis" awards at the end of the symposium.
The Symposium Organizing Committee invites all scientists, engineers, and students, involved in R & D in the broad area of lasers and related fields, to participate in the symposium.
The topics of interest are : 1) Physics and technology of lasers, 2) Laser materials, devices, and components, 3) Quantum and nonlinear optics, 4) Laser spectroscopy, 5) Applications of lasers in material science, 6) Laser-plasma interaction, 7) Applications of lasers in industry, defence, nuclear, and space science, 8) Applications of lasers in chemistry, biology, and medicine, 9) Laser based instrumentation, and 10) Electronics and instrumentation for lasers.
