Welcome to the homepage of the
Indian Laser Association
The Indian Laser Association ( ILA ) is an association of persons
interested in laser technology and applications. The association aims to promote education, advancement
and applications of laser science and technology in India, through
various activities such as organization of seminars, symposia and
training courses; publications of books and journals; and promotion of
active interaction with other professional institutions especially in the
field of medicine and engineering.
Bulletin of the Indian Laser Association :
ILA publishes a
quarterly newsletter Bulletin of the Indian Laser Association which
is
mailed free to all members. The bulletin contains brief reports on
activities at different R & D Centres in India, as well as articles and
news items of general interest to laser community. It also carries
information about forthcoming laser related meetings, reports on recently
held conferences etc.
Recent issues
of Bulletin of the Indian Laser Association(formerly Laser News) [1997 onwards]
are also available
on-line.
Membership :
The association admits life membership for those having
qualification of a graduate or higher degree in any branch of Science and
Engineering with professional interest in lasers and / or laser related areas.
Currently the life membership fee is Rs. 500 for Indian residents. This
will be Rs.1,000 from 30.4.2000
For
persons residing outside India, the life membership fee is Rs.5,000.
From 1.1.2000, ILA has introduced Corporate
Membership. The fee for
this is Rs.10,000.
Membership Fee
can be paid through demand
draft / account payee cheque, payable to
"Indian Laser Association" mailed to the General
Secretary - II at the address given below. For outstation cheques, add
Rs.32 as bank charges.
To apply for membership, the fee draft/cheque should be
accompanied by a covering letter giving details like : name,
mailing address (with PIN Code), phone/fax #s, e.mail address, date of
birth, academic
qualifications, present position, awards received etc.

Executive Committee :
The affairs of the association are managed by an Executive
Committee elected by the members. The present office bearers for the term
February 1999 to January 2001 are as follows :

The Indian Laser Association is registered as a non-profit
organization under the Societies' Registration Act and also as a Public
Trust. It has its registered office at CAT Liason Office, Mod.Labs, BARC,
Mumbai. However, for all purposes, CAT, Indore is the head-quarter of ILA.
